It’s that time again. I’m trying to be more consistent at updating my blog. Actually, I have been consistent–consistently sporadic! I guess what I am trying to do is jump back on the wagon of more regular posts. I won’t even attempt to suggest what “regular” will mean–let’s just see how that works out.
Some coworkers who repeatedly chastised me in front of a visiting consultant yesterday spurred this attempt on! They might have thought it would embarrass me but it didn’t. However, it did make me want to tell things about them on my blog! If you want to learn more, keep reading!

I was stretched beyond my comfort zone this weekend when anywhere between 2 to 40 strangers hung out at my house while I catered a wedding for some friends. The wedding was held on the street outside our house and in several neighboring yards. Many of the bride and groom’s friends were 4 or 5 hours early for the ceremony and needed a cool place to hang until their responsibilities began. My house was not “company ready” and was catering central for the event. However, it quickly became a lounge for people I didn’t know while I carried on my catering duties in the midst of providing drinks and keeping the toilet paper stocked. I am very thankful today! I have just experienced a CLASSeminar and my brain hurts! It was an amazing three-day adventure where I learned so much about becoming a more effective communicator. I am still processing things today as I try to get back into the swing of life in the office. I am sure I will share many things with you over the next few weeks. Until then, I want to say how thankful I am for the women in my small group. I believe God orchestrated the selection of groups just for me to meet some wonderful women. Okay, maybe it wasn’t JUST for me, but I am so thankful for my CLASSY new friends.
What about you? Take time to make a list of 3 things you are most thankful for today.

Life is CRAZY for us right now. We are trying to get a house ready to sell, building another house, involved with a building project for the Children’s Ministry Center at our church, holding down full-time out of house jobs and trying to keep up the many in-house jobs as possible.
I know we aren’t the only ones who have a crazy schedule right now–and we certainly don’t have the worst schedule out there–by any means!
In the midst of it, though, I am amazed at how the Lord is using our family and friends to encourage us and bear us up under the burdens of this time in our lives. Our friends are “iron sharpening iron” for us these days, and I cannot thank God enough for the impact that has had in our lives. It has inspired me to be more aware of opportunities to “iron”.
What about you? Have you “ironed” lately?

As I got into the car to head to work this morning, I noticed an envelope perched on the dashboard.
I quickly recognized Steve’s handwriting and found butterflies (Yes, they still come after more than 16 years of marriage!) forming in my stomach as I looked forward to seeing what he had written. As I tore open the envelope and pulled out the card, I realized there was a problem. The message on the card was printed in Spanish! Read more »
